The Prison Break Connection - Development Post #4

Hello!! Welcome back to the development blog of The Prison Break Connection. It has been two weeks since I posted the last one and I have finally finished detailing out the story for the project. If you feel like reading the whole thing, then please do download it from the end of this blog post. It is over 5000 words long, so enjoy that lol.

In this blog post, I shall basically be covering small events that take place after what I said in the previous blog post rather than say the whole story because otherwise this blog post will be too long and unnecessary. That is why the main story document has been attached to the end of this post.

After stealing the police uniforms and key cards, Lewis continues in the only direction that is open to walk to. He finds a control room where he steals a map of the prison from while there were other cops in the room. This lets him find the location of where Daisy is and tells her to come to the central tower of the prison. He also starts heading towards the same tower, when he is forced into taking a long detour.

He has to walk through the prison cells when he is attacked by one of the inmates and is forced to fight him along with another inmate. After this encounter, he is taken to the staff infirmary in the central tower by another cop where he can get treatment for his wound.

After leaving this infirmary, he finds Daisy who has stolen a portable hand drill from the workshop while she was trying to find her way to the central tower. They then try to figure out a way to escape.

A change in aim

While working on this project all these weeks and also while actively trying to find a job, I realized that I need to and also want to learn 3D Hard surface modelling. It has been on my list of learning things from a long time. So I thought, why not take this opportunity to learn 3D Modelling. So now, instead of doing a playable prototype, I have decided to learn 3D modelling and make that as my submission for this project. I'm planning on starting off with learning how to make small and simple assets and then eventually move on to make the prison (with some details) in 3D.

I know that making this as my main deliverable for this project is a huge risk especially since I have absolutely zero knowledge about 3D modelling, but I think this pressure is what is going to make me faster and more efficient in learning the software and the fact that I am very good at learning softwares quickly, gives me more confidence that I can pull this off.

This is a very small version of the story and everything is much more detailed in the story document. Please do go through that if you get the time. I also hope you support my decision of going with the idea of learning 3D modelling because its definitely going to help me in the long run as well. By the next blog post, I should have learnt a little bit about 3D modelling and I should be able to show a few of the assets that I would've made by then.

Until the next post, adios.
